What unites all of them is their shared experience as commentators or co-commentators for the Olympic swimming competitions. Their combined expertise ensures that the Swiss Open 2024 will be covered by true specialists who live and breathe swimming.
Tobias “Tobi” Gross
Tobi is a former competitive swimmer and a former successful coach for SV Baar, as well as a well-known speaker at swimming competitions. In addition to his current role as a teacher, Tobi is an active member of the swimming coaches’ association and serves as a representative of the Coaches’ Council in the Swiss Swimming Federation. His deep knowledge of the sport, combined with his experience as both an athlete and coach, gives him a unique perspective that enhances his commentary, making every race more engaging and insightful.
Peter „Wü“ Wüthrich
Wü brings a wealth of experience to the team. Having been a competitive breaststroke swimmer and the head coach at Swimming Club Bern, the role of commentator does not represent any challenge for him. In addition to his extensive experience in swimming, Wü is also President of District Switzerland and Liechtenstein in Panathlon International, an organization which promotes and supports sports and ethical values in sports. His expertise in communications and his lifelong connection to sports, ensures that Wü infuses with deep knowledge and a true passion for the sport.
Jeroen Heijers
Jeroen brings over 8 years of TV experience to the commentary team. His passion for live sports is evident in every broadcast, and his ability to bring the excitement and intensity of the sport to life for viewers is unparalleled, making him a perfect fit for us. Jeroen will be moderating the Team Challenge and conducting live interviews from the poolside, adding even more energy and insight to this special Saturday night event.
